Petrichor And Promise

Petrichor And Promise

By Arya Meshram

Petrichor fills the air,

A promise of rain

Echoing miles away,

Across the overburden land

To the shoreline's whisper in the east,

Footsteps heard of someone

She associates with tristfulness,

A blur of blue-white haze seen on the

Constellations residing on the marmoris

Is the remembered one finally here?

"Yes, as Lucent as ever"

The sea coruscated in his presence,

His smell trickled the skin—greeting

As if still alive, just how it was a few seasons ago

A thin thread tied her to this place,

The other end to someone who is now alive

Only in this air and her memories

A gentle embrace felt by people like her

                          Who mourn silently.
