Imperceptible

Imperceptible

By Jax Soon-Legaspi

there is a difference between unseen and unreal

staring up at the bedroom ceiling

door closed on my stillness, invisible

i sink into anonymity

like thoughts upon forgetting

nothing to witness me

perception lost like starry nights to the blind

mirrors in a dark room

as real as ultraviolet

different in a sense to falling asleep on the train

safe under the eyes of strangers

seen, soft, reflecting light

visible like the backs of eyelids

a half moon, conceived by secondhand sunshine

in the light echoing from their eyes i am made
