Girl, Half Dressed

Girl, Half Dressed

By Eleanor Riddick

I am a girl

In front of a mirror

Legs bare, knees knobbly

Woman-shaped glass

Half full, unsure, afraid

Transparent and breakable

A pale face stares into the mirror

Spots on the forehead, bags under

eyes Tired, never enough

Growing into a foreign skin

Who will I be?

Who am I, this girl,

Half-dressed,

Woman half-formed?
