There is a vase filled with an assortment of blue flowers. They seem to be wilting rapidly.

She must hurry, she thinks.
She wants—yearns to know more—about the human brain.
Glancing around the room, she eagerly rests her eyes upon him.
She cannot wait to pick him apart.
