Catch Your Castle

Catch Your Castle

By Hibah Shabkhez

Castles all rise and fall in the air. Some you catch and gently set down, and like

transplanted saplings, they push their way into the earth and build strong foundations.

Some are not caught, and scatter. You have not seen the lost homeland, you have not seen

the ravaged home, but when you read of them, you can empathise just the least little bit, if

only because of a beloved book or doll or hairband snatched away and broken, or perhaps

because of a castle uncaught as it fell from the air, a dream crumbling into the dust of life.
